Welcome to the Underground! Newbies, we're very excited to have you! This post is both a CR meme and a general update about what's happening in the game, so please do read and feel free to ask any questions.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and discuss your in-game strategy.
• Think about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

Newbies, are you wondering how to get started? The plotting post for June is still live, and there's room to jump in! Here are some plots in the works that are open to join:

There will also be some new game information to be added this month: the Elites, a list of the most influential characters in each faction. These will be exclusively made up of level 4 or 5 ranking characters, and therefore to start off this page will be populated by NPCs. The twist? They'll be made up by you, so that you can put a name and a face to your faction leaders. Look out for an OOC post on that soon.

Heiji is a friendly, chatty kitsune from Osaka, Japan who loves mystery novels. His alliance is with the Seelie fae, though of course since he mostly tools around the human world in human form, characters may or may not know this. Due to recent events, he's been considerably more active in his court, acting as a source of information to fellow fae and establishing connections with people from various London factions. Oh yeah, and he attracts dead bodies like it's an episode of Murder, She Wrote.

Here is Heiji's itinerary for the rest of June + July:

Helping to take down a vampire countess (~June 20)
Ferrying contestants back home from the Litha feast (June 21)
Attending the Circle Midnight party on June 25th. Party.
Leading a territory claim on Bromley on behalf of the fae. (July)
Aiming for a promotion to Lord in the Seelie court. (July)

Some general areas I'm planning to tackle:

Court happenings! There are quite a few new fae in the game, so Heiji will be getting to know folks. Sup lords and ladies!
Alliances! Heiji is particularly interested in establishing good relations with the werewolves, though he'll also be getting into contact with Hillingdon's hunters. Should any dark witches need his help, he may also show up behind the scenes in areas taken by Redbright or Daybreak to offer them escort out of danger.
Politics! Heiji is AFAIK the most open of the fae when it comes to discussing politics and his own motivations, so if your character is interested/would be involved in that.

CR I'm looking for:

Other fae
Spooky supernatural nonsense
Action/comedy/horror
Characters that can have conversations about whatever esoteric garbage Heiji is interested in. Like cryptids or serial murderers or archaeological sites or Commodore Perry.
Other? In canon, Heiji ranges between serious and goofy. He's constantly doing things and meeting people, and if you add his naturally curious fox nature onto that in UG, he'll just be bumping into people left and right.

Balem is a douchebag Unseelie fae lord who loves space and is pretty okay with other fae and pretty snobby towards anyone else. He's also really damn old (50,000) and has been in London for around 200 years, and before that places like Italy, France, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Egypt, if your character would have been in any of those places. He's arrogant as hell and enjoys art and manipulating others.

PLANS:

-Nothing set in stone for the rest of June, so feel free to suggest something!
-In July he's planning on getting the Unseelie on the map, probably going for Bexley because it's neutral and right next to Greenwich where his beloved Royal Observatory is.
-He's really angry about all the Night Council business, mostly because Circle Daybreak tries to keep fae out of their territory and he hates being told what to do, so he's going to be doing things (including any territory claims) just to stick it to them, pretty much.

DESIRED CR:

-Fae!
-Alliances with werewolves, circle midnight witches, and anyone else that feels scorned by the Night Council.
-Anyone who is also interested in space and star-related magic, he may grumpily mentor you.
-Baically anything, pre-existing or new, negative or positive, really.

Sup Balem let's hang out and talk about fae junk.

Actually, if you were interested in a log with the other fae planning strategy and whatever for Bexley/Bromley, that might be cool. Presumably after they've gotten the OK from the Elites to put their plan into action, jaw about the other factions etc etc.

Abigail is a socialite with a family history of tragedy and dark magic. The Widdowsons are notorious for their connections to Circle Midnight and for the fact that they tend to die unexpectedly.

Abby's current goal is forming a coven for Circle Midnight. It will be officially started on June 25th.

She'll be throwing a party at Geap Manor on July 1st, where she'll announce the coven publicly.

Other than that, during June and July, I'm totally open for planning and CR establishing. Especially since her family's old society, even though she's been isolated since she was thirteen until about a year ago.

In-Game So Far:

The most notable thing Kenzi has done so far is rob a dead girl, sell some fake art, dand upset several different people. So all in all, it's been an average month. I'm planning on there being a book that Kenzi thinks exists and can help her do advanced spellwork without being advanced in practice herself.

CR Ideas:

- Fellow black market people Kenzi can associate with or compete with!

- ex-associates, ex-bodyguards, ex-boyfriends. Basically people that used to work with Kenzi and have stopped for their own reasons

- Lawful good types trying to catch her. I'd love to have law enforcement tracking her down, trying to find her and coming close a la Javert. Give me your obsessives pls

- Flirting options (exclusively male unfortunately) and potential love interests?

- Anyone who wants to help her improve her magic?

- Clients!

- Any neg or pos CR.

Faction Stuff: ~~So Kenzi herself isn't particularly motivated in politics and gaining ground~~ Kenzi is reluctantly getting involved in establishing Circle Midnight with Abigail (

acrookedchild) and Nancy (

stauncherhearted) and will be becoming more active in underground politics. We'll see how that goes.

Slughorn! Probably the oldest witch in the UK at this point, and responsible for a great deal of witch politics for decades now. Possibly including the rise of one hell of a Dark Lord back in the WW2 days.

I have no specific plans for the old man, but in general:

Collecting. As in canon, Slughorn has connections and favors that stretch back, and rigidly maintains his acquisition of more by adding people to his personal circle if he believes knowing them will be advantageous -- or if they're just pretty awesome in some way. Despite what certain Chosen Ones might think, this really isn't reprehensible -- it's just Good Ol' Boy politics at play, more like a Skull and Bones Society than anything malefic. If your character has worthwhile connections or is useful or interesting, Slughorn will want you.

Unless he knows or suspects you're into dark magic. He doesn't want that.

Potions. Slughorn has opened an apothecarium, and so long as you're not gunning for Circle Daybreak or plotting evil, he has no problem selling potions to those in need.

Favor-trading. Half of the first and half of the second, Slughorn is willing to keep in people's good graces and keep favors coming his way by trading them out. A good deed here for a good deed there? You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours?

A Dark History. People versed in the lore of Circle Midnight might know that his talent and skill have been a desirable acquisition for decades.

CR I'm looking for:

-Really, pretty much anything at this point. He's barely established, so toss stuff at me and we'll see what sticks!

Lousy old society. Don't think Slughorn won't recognize that name and its histories! ~~go go wizard snobbery~~

Sylvia is a witch, and she's in charge of Circle Daybreak, the Night Council and the Redbright Institute. Last month the Redbright Institute successfully claimed the territory of Barnet, adding it to the green safe zone! That was an introductory territory claim and from now on I won't be making any claims as a mod. But of course Sylvia would absolutely support further expansion of her factions.

Here's a brief outline of Sylvia's overall strategy for the Redbright Institute:

• Extend the green safe zone to the north of London
• Take over disputed territories and make them peaceful
• Stamp out dark magic completely
• Eventually, negotiate with the vampires and werewolves to broker a peace agreement
• Support Circle Daybreak and Night Council where possible

And her strategy for Circle Daybreak:

• Make a slow expansion to gradually dominate the entire south of London
• Avoid pissing off the vampires unless they get aggressive
• Support Redbright Institute and Night Council where possible
• Aggressively squash any attempts by Circle Midnight to gain territory

Daybreak and Redbright characters, I fully encourage any future territory claims and/or countering the potential horrors of fae/Midnight power grabs. There's more information on Sylvia as a character here. Hit me up if you want CR!

So! Henry is currently a teacher of mundane politics and history at Redbright Institute and looking to open his own practice for humans and supernatural creatures alike.

Within a few months, I'm planning on having him become, instead, the on-call physician at Redbright and a medical examiner with the Night Council as a Civil Servant.

He is an immortal like in his canon, and he's just recently back from time in NYC. I would love for older/immortal characters who might have seen him around years and years ago, etc, or students. Or, really, anyone who might come into his circle of influence.

Abby kind of sort of ~~really~~ enjoys being around people who understand what her family name means, haha.

Lancelot is brand new to the game, but not new to London! He lives and works as a police community support officer in South-West London, but likely kicks around travelling on days off etc. He was kidnapped away to the Seelie Court when he was young, after witnessing his family die in a horrible faction war, and after being dumped back had his memories locked away! Currently, he thinks he's just a plain old human and doesn't know the supernatural is real!

Thus:

June/July plans:

Find out about the Supernatural! Lancelot needs to have a close encounter of some sort to kick-start. I'm open to ideas! Traumatic, comical, awkward or otherwise!

Make friends! Since Lancelot, even after his memories have been unlocked, will still be pretty behind! His only knowledge will be wildly out of date and based around his time in the Seelie court. He'll need to read up and some coaching to make sure he doesn't get himself killed.

Investigating! Once he's realised what he's in for Lance will probably want to learn about the different factions, histories, etc! If you'd like to investigate too, he's your study buddy! If you want to fill in our resident Jon Snow and make faces at him, go ahead!

You Don't Belong Here: I figure with all his poking around he should mess up at least once and get on the wrong side of someone. If you want to chase him out or get into a fight with him, I'm open!

Cr With Me!

Lancelot is a community officer, so easily someone could have seen him around in the South-West before! He specifically works in Richmond!

He also has a big fluffy white Samoyed dog, which is probably recognisable if you walk around the area

He volunteers for the RSPCA! Do you like animals and volunteer too? You could be friends!

Do you have any fae-based history or ties? You might be able to sense the fae magic on him!

Are you in Circle Daybreak? He needs someone to recruit him officially once his memories are unlocked!

Do you want someone annoyingly nice to scowl at and roll your eyes at? He's your guy!

Do you just want a friend to be confused with? He's still your guy!

So, Wanda.

Wanda was raised in a clinic setting by people promising her revenge for the destruction of her hometown. Unfortunately, what they actually taught her to do was kill for them. She and her brother broke free, but she thinks he's dead. She is a hunter by trade but will be integrating into the Unseelie Court.

Which I need to work on the hows. Ideas for connections to help pull her into the Courts and other associations are more than welcome.

I'm totally cool with negative and positive CR, so bring it on!

CURRENT PLANS:

Continuing the ever-fruitless search for his sister's murderer.
Helping out Circle Midnight with grabbing a territory! He is not going to directly involve his pack in this, but he will let them know that he's doing it.
Attending the Circle Midnight party, since even werewolves have to keep up appearances.
Possibly helping out the fae in their territory grab too? I AM NOT SURE but he might get roped into both, same as above pack-wise.
~~THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA~~ Derek's going to want to fight the vampire countess that's visiting this month! He's probably going to run in alone, get his ass kicked, and reluctantly work with others. (I need to hit that post still but he will be involved)

CR IDEAS:

If your character has knowlege of the supernatural community, then they might be aware of the Hale family - an old and relatively prestigious clan of werewolves - the recent murder of Derek's sister and the fact that he's searching for information, or even that he's recently stepped up as alpha/there's a new alpha in power.
and AS BEFORE, Derek contacting a character in a bid to try and get information about his sister is always a possibility. If your character is well connected, he might seek them out!
Conflict/enemies! While he's making more of an effort now, Derek is still laughably easy to goad into a fight. People who would butt heads with him, whether it leads to a lasting grudge or not, are more than welcome to apply! Maybe you've got beef with werewolves. Maybe you're a hunter he can't trust. Maybe you're just as great at picking fights as he is.
Alliances/friends??? Derek's unexpectedly landed himself in with Circle Midnight, but despite his lacking personality he's willing to network when he has to. From a pack point of view, he'll be looking for anyone that can provide for his group, whether it's information or just having each other's backs. Mutual benefit will also mean he trusts it more. Alternatively, maybe your character gets on well with tough assholes?

SHARED CR?

Derek has been in London for a couple of years now, and I'm absolutely down for plotting previous run ins with new characters! As stated above, people are welcome to have some kind of knowledge of Derek/his family/his position/his manpain.
FACTION PLANS:

For June, Derek is focused on keeping his pack together and finding allies/connections. In July/August, he might go for a territory grab! His eyes will be on either Havering or Greenwich, the latter of which is currently contested. But yolo, right? He's unlikely to just hit people up like HEY ALLY WITH US, but I'm totally amenable to figuring something out.

Circle Midnight will be making a territory claim of Enfield in early July.

Since Slughorn is relatively older than most people, would you be interested in having Slughorn and Henry meet and say that they met last time Henry was in London? Which was probably 30+ years ago?

Fae magic is clearly not witch magic, but Heiji might be able to help Kenzi out in that regard -- he's been around for a while, and he's also just naturally really good at things like illusion magic.

Sup sup, so in light of their recent conversation, you can count Heiji in to help Derek with any territory grabs. I think that at the point in their current thread, Heiji's not dead set on participating on the whole territory thing. However! He could somehow get a hold of Derek's contact info (maybe through Stiles) and talk about it at some point?

Since Derek didn't try to eat his face or anything.

Yo, if you need something supernatural to encounter, we could hash out something with Heiji, since he's... pretty supernatural. He might approach Lancelot at some point and realize oops, mistaken identity, it's just a human who got tapped by a fae or something :|a

'Got tapped by a fae' makes it sounds like a fae tried to have sex with him.

But that could be pretty funny, in a way! Especially if Heiji gets stuck in the conversation then has to backtrack -- and I suppose it might spark his curiosity as well since it would make Lance a mystery to be solved!

Ha, yeah. Or Heiji could simply approach him as a fox, realize his mistake when he got a bit closer, and bail or something :|a.

This is just to remind myself: need to arrange a thread between Sylvia and Henry to discuss shifting his position IC after AC time if the necessary points are there for him.

Sirius is new to the game, and has recent returned to London after escaping prison, which is where he's been for the past twelve years after being framed for a murder he didn't commit. If you were part of the supernatural community then, you probably heard about it and I'm sure nasty rumours have also come up now and again. His name would be known both from his infamy and because he comes from a rather prominent Shapeshifter family.

CR Plans:
-Re-establishing Sirius. He doesn't really know much about the outside world and what's been happening having been locked up for so long. He needs information and allies. (I am cool with new friendships or pre-established ones)
-Reconnecting with the Hillingdon Clan. After falling out with his family, Sirius kind of drifted away from the clan, so getting him back in in some way would be great.
-He'll likely be at the Circle Midnight party, but more out of the need to steal food.
