CR Planning: June 2015

Welcome to the Underground! Newbies, we're very excited to have you! This post is both a CR meme and a general update about what's happening in the game, so please do read and feel free to ask any questions.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and discuss your in-game strategy.
• Think about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

Newbies, are you wondering how to get started? The plotting post for June is still live, and there's room to jump in! Here are some plots in the works that are open to join:

Vampire & hunter shenanigans
• The Bloody Countess (20th June, Heiji Hattori)

Fae shenanigans
• Litha Feast: aka kidnapped by the Seelie (21st June, Heiji Hattori)
• Missing teens: aka who got kidnapped by the Seelie (in-progress, Pel Lavellan)

Witchy shenanigans
• Forming a Circle Midnight coven (25th June, Abigail Widdowson)
• Throwing a Midnight party at Geap Manor (1st July, Abigail Widdowson)

There will also be some new game information to be added this month: the Elites, a list of the most influential characters in each faction. These will be exclusively made up of level 4 or 5 ranking characters, and therefore to start off this page will be populated by NPCs. The twist? They'll be made up by you, so that you can put a name and a face to your faction leaders. Look out for an OOC post on that soon.

Sylvia Redbright (NPC)

Sylvia is a witch, and she's in charge of Circle Daybreak, the Night Council and the Redbright Institute. Last month the Redbright Institute successfully claimed the territory of Barnet, adding it to the green safe zone! That was an introductory territory claim and from now on I won't be making any claims as a mod. But of course Sylvia would absolutely support further expansion of her factions.

Here's a brief outline of Sylvia's overall strategy for the Redbright Institute:

• Extend the green safe zone to the north of London
• Take over disputed territories and make them peaceful
• Stamp out dark magic completely
• Eventually, negotiate with the vampires and werewolves to broker a peace agreement
• Support Circle Daybreak and Night Council where possible

And her strategy for Circle Daybreak:

• Make a slow expansion to gradually dominate the entire south of London
• Avoid pissing off the vampires unless they get aggressive
• Support Redbright Institute and Night Council where possible
• Aggressively squash any attempts by Circle Midnight to gain territory

Daybreak and Redbright characters, I fully encourage any future territory claims and/or countering the potential horrors of fae/Midnight power grabs. There's more information on Sylvia as a character here. Hit me up if you want CR!

Sylvia will have the full support of Slughorn so long as he doesn't actually have to be overt about anything. He quite enjoys his comfort, after all. just protect his ass

She will get whatever support she can from him, believe me. Shall we assume that they already know each other? Sylvia could have helped Slughorn find a place in London! (So he'll owe her a favour...)

That would make the most sense! And really, owe her a favor when she's getting the aid of such a skilled witch to call on at need? ;)

Indeed, yes, those are likely the very skills she will call on. For that favour he owes her. (Just think of her as Dumbledore.)

Would it be okay to say Jen's maybe represented Redbright legally on an occasion or two? Winning them a building permit for a school expansion or something else clerical and boring laughs. I figure it'd put Jen in Sylvia's pocket for having a good in with werewolves in the future?

Sylvia is not a big fan of werewolves, but she would be fine with someone in her team hiring Jen on occasion!

I loved their interacting in the Test Drive, and would love to develop that some more! He's been in London for a bit now, so I could see them already having a working relationship. Constantly irritating Syliva every time he opens his mouth, and yet proving useful in his service of covering up / diverting supernatural crimes to the Night Council?

Sure! I take it you'd like to count the test drive thread as canon, then? I could see Sylvia finding out more about who he is and then arranging for Night Council intel to be sent to him and vice versa, as appropriate. (E.g. SIRIUS BLACK, escaped convict, also a shapeshifter.)

Yes! Afterwards, maybe they could've met again by coincidence in a more formal setting? Maybe a case involving drained bodies, dead wolves, or some other sort of supernatural mayhem that would've spearheaded Jackson into forwarding info to the appropriate supernatural authorities. In the the process a) meets Sylvia again and realizes who she actually is b) realizes the benefits of doing favors for the Council and Sylvia.

I'd be happy to go with this! Also Sylvia could gently nudge him into joining a coven. Because he could do with some friends.
