CR Planning: June 2015

Welcome to the Underground! Newbies, we're very excited to have you! This post is both a CR meme and a general update about what's happening in the game, so please do read and feel free to ask any questions.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and discuss your in-game strategy.
• Think about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

Newbies, are you wondering how to get started? The plotting post for June is still live, and there's room to jump in! Here are some plots in the works that are open to join:

Vampire & hunter shenanigans
• The Bloody Countess (20th June, Heiji Hattori)

Fae shenanigans
• Litha Feast: aka kidnapped by the Seelie (21st June, Heiji Hattori)
• Missing teens: aka who got kidnapped by the Seelie (in-progress, Pel Lavellan)

Witchy shenanigans
• Forming a Circle Midnight coven (25th June, Abigail Widdowson)
• Throwing a Midnight party at Geap Manor (1st July, Abigail Widdowson)

There will also be some new game information to be added this month: the Elites, a list of the most influential characters in each faction. These will be exclusively made up of level 4 or 5 ranking characters, and therefore to start off this page will be populated by NPCs. The twist? They'll be made up by you, so that you can put a name and a face to your faction leaders. Look out for an OOC post on that soon.

In-Game So Far:

The most notable thing Kenzi has done so far is rob a dead girl, sell some fake art, dand upset several different people. So all in all, it's been an average month. I'm planning on there being a book that Kenzi thinks exists and can help her do advanced spellwork without being advanced in practice herself.

CR Ideas:

- Fellow black market people Kenzi can associate with or compete with!

- ex-associates, ex-bodyguards, ex-boyfriends. Basically people that used to work with Kenzi and have stopped for their own reasons

- Lawful good types trying to catch her. I'd love to have law enforcement tracking her down, trying to find her and coming close a la Javert. Give me your obsessives pls

- Flirting options (exclusively male unfortunately) and potential love interests?

- Anyone who wants to help her improve her magic?

- Clients!

- Any neg or pos CR.

Faction Stuff: So Kenzi herself isn't particularly motivated in politics and gaining ground Kenzi is reluctantly getting involved in establishing Circle Midnight with Abigail (acrookedchild) and Nancy (stauncherhearted) and will be becoming more active in underground politics. We'll see how that goes.

Fae magic is clearly not witch magic, but Heiji might be able to help Kenzi out in that regard -- he's been around for a while, and he's also just naturally really good at things like illusion magic.

Mab will teach you all the things child. For a price. The first hit is free. Seriously though, I want Mab involved in the human world, she might trade you some magic lessons for minor spells for taking her around to do mundane human things. If she wants to learn more dangerous things it really will put her in debt. But Mab would love that.

I'm really into this??? I've been hoping for Kenzi to get a fae to teach her shit and get her in trouble because she's a greedy little mortal.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of 'debt' do you have in mind for the more dangerous things?

Yesss. Mab will get her into so much trouble.

So, Mab's ultimate goal in any interaction is to find some way to eventually (for all intents and purposes) own that person. In game it would mean she would consider the persona a vassal (or potential vassal). She fully intends to become the Unseelie Queen and it would kind of make a person her subject. She grants power and you would be bound to do what she asks of you. Generally it would mean she could call on you at need (it's a two way street in that respect as Kenzi could summon her as well being a dark witch though more power would rest with Mab). In the game I imagine it would be helping her reopen ways between the worlds, and assisting in territory claims, providing information when necessary despite the potential dangers involved in finding out said information. Depending on how good a person deals, gives them what options it would take for them to reject requests Mab makes of them. Mab is building a power base. She likes shiny new weapons even the ones that shine black and if she can gain witchy loyalty she'd make sure to help that loyalty grow her power.

I do like the sound of that; will there be a chance to get out of Mab's fairy clutches if Kenzi's friends decide this is no bueno?

Technically she could deal her way out of it. Although that tends to get people in deeper. LOL Or her friends could try to deal her out of it. Mab would like that very much. I'm sure ooc we could work something out if necessary if they can't seem to do it in character.

He might want to get his hands on some fairy ointment in the near future, so if Kenzi can make that then he'll pay good money for that shit. If not then I'm sure he'll hit her up for other things eventually, Clive loves buying shit off the black market.....
