CR Planning: June 2015

Welcome to the Underground! Newbies, we're very excited to have you! This post is both a CR meme and a general update about what's happening in the game, so please do read and feel free to ask any questions.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and discuss your in-game strategy.
• Think about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

Newbies, are you wondering how to get started? The plotting post for June is still live, and there's room to jump in! Here are some plots in the works that are open to join:

Vampire & hunter shenanigans

• Litha Feast: aka kidnapped by the Seelie (21st June, Heiji Hattori)
• Missing teens: aka who got kidnapped by the Seelie (in-progress, Pel Lavellan)

Witchy shenanigans
• Forming a Circle Midnight coven (25th June, Abigail Widdowson)
• Throwing a Midnight party at Geap Manor (1st July, Abigail Widdowson)

There will also be some new game information to be added this month: the Elites, a list of the most influential characters in each faction. These will be exclusively made up of level 4 or 5 ranking characters, and therefore to start off this page will be populated by NPCs. The twist? They'll be made up by you, so that you can put a name and a face to your faction leaders. Look out for an OOC post on that soon.

Lancelot is brand new to the game, but not new to London! He lives and works as a police community support officer in South-West London, but likely kicks around travelling on days off etc. He was kidnapped away to the Seelie Court when he was young, after witnessing his family die in a horrible faction war, and after being dumped back had his memories locked away! Currently, he thinks he's just a plain old human and doesn't know the supernatural is real!

Thus:

June/July plans:

Find out about the Supernatural! Lancelot needs to have a close encounter of some sort to kick-start. I'm open to ideas! Traumatic, comical, awkward or otherwise!

Make friends! Since Lancelot, even after his memories have been unlocked, will still be pretty behind! His only knowledge will be wildly out of date and based around his time in the Seelie court. He'll need to read up and some coaching to make sure he doesn't get himself killed.

Investigating! Once he's realised what he's in for Lance will probably want to learn about the different factions, histories, etc! If you'd like to investigate too, he's your study buddy! If you want to fill in our resident Jon Snow and make faces at him, go ahead!

You Don't Belong Here: I figure with all his poking around he should mess up at least once and get on the wrong side of someone. If you want to chase him out or get into a fight with him, I'm open!

Cr With Me!

Lancelot is a community officer, so easily someone could have seen him around in the South-West before! He specifically works in Richmond!

He also has a big fluffy white Samoyed dog, which is probably recognisable if you walk around the area

He volunteers for the RSPCA! Do you like animals and volunteer too? You could be friends!

Do you have any fae-based history or ties? You might be able to sense the fae magic on him!

Are you in Circle Daybreak? He needs someone to recruit him officially once his memories are unlocked!

Do you want someone annoyingly nice to scowl at and roll your eyes at? He's your guy!

Do you just want a friend to be confused with? He's still your guy!

Yo, if you need something supernatural to encounter, we could hash out something with Heiji, since he's... pretty supernatural. He might approach Lancelot at some point and realize oops, mistaken identity, it's just a human who got tapped by a fae or something :|a

'Got tapped by a fae' makes it sounds like a fae tried to have sex with him.

(HE WAS TOO YOUNG FOR THAT JUST TO CLARIFY)

But that could be pretty funny, in a way! Especially if Heiji gets stuck in the conversation then has to backtrack -- and I suppose it might spark his curiosity as well since it would make Lance a mystery to be solved!

Ha, yeah. Or Heiji could simply approach him as a fox, realize his mistake when he got a bit closer, and bail or something :|a.

Could do! Would he just sniff at him as a fox or try to talk to him as a fox then?

Hmm... I guess it kind of depends on what Lancelot's magic influence is actually like? Like it's a rule that supernatural creatures aren't supposed to drag un-supernatural creatures into their business.

So if it was fairly obvious that something just cast a spell on him and Lancelot himself didn't know anything about the supernatural but is just some poor victim, Heiji would bail pretty fast. If it was more something permanent, he'd probably be a bit puzzled, realize through conversation that Lancelot was clueless, but possibly stick around for a bit.

He doesn't sniff people, though, that would be weird...

He was raised in the Seelie Court for five years, so all the magic he has left is sort of passive -- kinda permanent buff or somesuch I suppose!

Hmm, alright, then let's just play it by ear and see what happens :|a

Jen could volunteer for the RSPCA with Lancelot if that's cool. She likes ~~eye candy~~ animals, particularly dogs being a werewolf and all. He can also maybe have helped her in legal cases in the past? Get up on the stand and testify yes he did see that punk kid spray painting shop fronts or things like that laugh.

If you want moar supernatural things to encounter there's a full moon July 2nd. He could catch Jen transforming, maybe find out about his meta abilities by using them to evade her? I'm just throwing things out here laughs. But let's plot things!

Sure! They could be volunteering friends! c: She'd probably enjoy teasing him he's an easy target to fluster and all but has a good sense of humour! (and makes good eyecandy yes) Equally, yes, he could have been involved with some legal case! c:

Yes! I had an amusing thought that maybe he could actually be off duty when he runs into Faolan ( w/ fluffy dog out for a walk or somesuch) so Faolan can think its not so bad until he utters the immortal words DONT WORRY I'M A POLICE OFFICER

LILY :')a AND HAHAHA YES everything's going so well until that. AT LEAST Faolan works with the police on contract so he can adjust how he's dealing with the situation from there, or at least try to hahaha

If Lancelot works as a support officer, there's a chance he may have heard / met Homer Jackson. He works as a forensic pathologist for the Met in the East End (Whitechapel, specifically).

It'd be fun for them to have known each other before they figure out they're both supernatural?

Yes! c: maybe they had crossover on a previous case? Since Lance is civ/staff it could maybe have been Homer + someone from the Whitechapel team coming to look at something to see if it was related to their case, Lance could have done sone escort/assisting?
