CR Planning: June 2015

Welcome to the Underground! Newbies, we're very excited to have you! This post is both a CR meme and a general update about what's happening in the game, so please do read and feel free to ask any questions.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and discuss your in-game strategy.
• Think about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

Newbies, are you wondering how to get started? The plotting post for June is still live, and there's room to jump in! Here are some plots in the works that are open to join:

Vampire & hunter shenanigans
• The Bloody Countess (20th June, Heiji Hattori)

Fae shenanigans
• Litha Feast: aka kidnapped by the Seelie (21st June, Heiji Hattori)
• Missing teens: aka who got kidnapped by the Seelie (in-progress, Pel Lavellan)

Witchy shenanigans
• Forming a Circle Midnight coven (25th June, Abigail Widdowson)
• Throwing a Midnight party at Geap Manor (1st July, Abigail Widdowson)

There will also be some new game information to be added this month: the Elites, a list of the most influential characters in each faction. These will be exclusively made up of level 4 or 5 ranking characters, and therefore to start off this page will be populated by NPCs. The twist? They'll be made up by you, so that you can put a name and a face to your faction leaders. Look out for an OOC post on that soon.

DEREK HALE | EAST END PACK / ALPHA

As his namefield might suggest, Derek can be difficult to befriend. He's acerbic and temperamental and prone to either deadpanning or snarling, and all this loveliness is rounded off with being incredibly suspicious of basically everyone. Even when he starts to trust them. Maybe especially then. THAT SAID, Derek's incredibly protective, even of people he doesn't necessarily like, and he's a lot quicker to form bonds than he'd have you believe.

He's only been the alpha for two months now, following the death of the previous alpha and his second in command, who happened to be Derek's sister. Since then, he's been struggling between finding his feet as leader and also finding his sister's killer. He's not getting particularly far with either.

CURRENT PLANS:

• Continuing the ever-fruitless search for his sister's murderer.
  
• Helping out Circle Midnight with grabbing a territory! He is not going to directly involve his pack in this, but he will let them know that he's doing it.
  
• Attending the Circle Midnight party, since even werewolves have to keep up appearances.
  
• Possibly helping out the fae in their territory grab too? I AM NOT SURE but he might get roped into both, same as above pack-wise.
  
• THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA Derek's going to want to fight the vampire countess that's visiting this month! He's probably going to run in alone, get his ass kicked, and reluctantly work with others. (I need to hit that post still but he will be involved)

CR IDEAS:

• If your character has knowlege of the supernatural community, then they might be aware of the Hale family - an old and relatively prestigious clan of werewolves - the recent murder of Derek's sister and the fact that he's searching for information, or even that he's recently stepped up as alpha/there's a new alpha in power.
  
• and AS BEFORE, Derek contacting a character in a bid to try and get information about his sister is always a possibility. If your character is well connected, he might seek them out!
  
• Conflict/enemies! While he's making more of an effort now, Derek is still laughably easy to goad into a fight. People who would butt heads with him, whether it leads to a lasting grudge or not, are more than welcome to apply! Maybe you've got beef with werewolves. Maybe you're a hunter he can't trust. Maybe you're just as great at picking fights as he is.
  
• Alliances/friends??? Derek's unexpectedly landed himself in with Circle Midnight, but despite his lacking personality he's willing to network when he has to. From a pack point of view, he'll be looking for anyone that can provide for his group, whether it's information or just having each other's backs. Mutual benefit will also mean he trusts it more. Alternatively, maybe your character gets on well with tough assholes?
  
• ANYTHING honestly feel free to hit me up I am still hungry like the wolf

SHARED CR?

Derek has been in London for a couple of years now, and I'm absolutely down for plotting previous run ins with new characters! As stated above, people are welcome to have some kind of knowledge of Derek/his family/his position/his manpain.

FACTION PLANS:

For June, Derek is focused on keeping his pack together and finding allies/connections. In July/August, he might go for a territory grab! His eyes will be on either Havering or Greenwich, the latter of which is currently contested. But yolo, right? He's unlikely to just hit people up like HEY ALLY WITH US, but I'm totally amenable to figuring something out.

Sup sup, so in light of their recent conversation, you can count Heiji in to help Derek with any territory grabs. I think that at the point in their current thread, Heiji's not dead set on participating on the whole territory thing. However! He could somehow get a hold of Derek's contact info (maybe through Stiles) and talk about it at some point?

Since Derek didn't try to eat his face or anything.

Heiji, together we can end the stigma against wolf and fox friendships.

That sounds great! Derek's perception has definitely been challenged by their first meeting, so he'd totally be up for working with Heiji (even if he's still going to be suspicious I'M SORRY). Stiles might be the easiest way for him to get contact details - he doesn't have them yet, but he's going to be assimilated with the pack soon and Derek will have little choice but to hand out his number. Though he might actually be grateful in the end if Heiji winds up with it.

Well I mean it's not like Heiji would blame him, some of his fae colleages are a little sketchy but

in any case, I think Heiji can relate to Derek a bit more because they are both canines of a sort. And he does understand why Derek would be protective. Good job, be that Alpha :|b

BUT YEAH they're definitely off to a better start than I thought - IT'S HARD NOT TO LIKE HEIJI DAMMIT HEIJI - and Stiles vouching for Heiji by putting them in contact again will probably strengthen that, even if Derek won't think of it that way bc... Stiles... I'm looking forward to their meeting 8]

Okay! Jen is London born and raised so I figure she would have been around when Derek and Laura joined the pack and then later when Laura and the alpha died? And probably had a lot of respect for his sister.

So she is probably really supportive of Derek because hey someone's gotta lead this pack and who better than Laura's little bro. That all said! Only thing I can think of plotting wise is Jen believes in teamwork. Derek you're a lone wolf mess. Would you maybe like to do some kind of pack ~team building~ exercise in June or July? She can badger him into getting the whole pack involved.

HEY SORRY FOR THE WAIT unexpectedly busy -- but YES Jen you're a wonder already 8( I think since she's been around and if she was on good terms with Laura etc, Derek probably respects her a whole lot. Esp since she's intelligent and badass and green down with her wolf side.

And that sounds great! He's not letting you talk him into trust falls though. They can absolutely coordinate something together since he... needs... all the help in the world...

I think they should absolutely meet a few times and be like, on name terms, and then they discover their terrible, sordid first encounter.

Whether bemoaning Stiles happens before or after that is fair game tho.
