CR Planning: May 2015

Welcome to the Underground! As promised, this is a follow-up post for players who have been accepted into the game to discuss your characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). Feel free to revise your character's history as appropriate to fit in with other characters in the game.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and begin discussing your in-game strategy.
• Start thinking about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

There will be a plotting post on the 18th where you can stake your territory claims for the opening month of the game, choose a prompt from a list of plots and start planning the events listed in the calendar.

Read the factions page to remind yourself who your allies and enemies are, then take a sneaky look at the territories map as it currently stands and have a think about your faction's goals. Do you want to make an aggressive grab for power? Sit tight and defend the territories you've already got? Play nice and build alliances with other factions? There's no right or wrong way to play: the tactics employed by your faction are completely up to you.

As before, this is a player-led discussion, but I'm happy to answer any questions. Happy planning, and I look forward to playing with everyone when the game opens!

Since Stiles has only just very recently arrived in London, I don’t think he’ll have much in the way of pre-existing CR. I’m assuming threads on the TDM are game-canon unless told otherwise!

NEW CR:

• A CLOSE MALE FRIEND to fill the gaping hole in his heart that is in the shape of Scott McCall, his heterosexual life partner. Stiles has never spent this much time apart from Scott and is going to be really homesick for his bro. While he’ll definitely be texting/calling/skyping with Scott off-screen, I think Stiles could really benefit from a new guy friend! I’d say a new gal friend too, but Stiles’ hormones might complicate things.

• SOMEONE TO TRAIN HIM in the ways of not getting his ass kicked around by the supernatural. Be his Mr. Miyagi!! Stiles is doomed to be a fairly poor student, but I imagine once he gets an actual taste of how dangerous the Underground is, he’ll sober up and put more effort into learning. He’ll never be a badass, let’s be real, but at least he’ll better be able to defend himself.

• JOB OPPORTUNITIES to bring home the bacon. Originally planned on having Stiles work for Handsome Jack on the pre-game CR meme, but I’m not sure if the player is still around (BABY COME BACK). So if your character has a need for a delivery boy or a test subject or a…idk, snooping snooper who snoops, we should talk!! (Stiles will be helping Kenzi out with her black market venue, but he’s always up for more shit to do.)

• VAMPIRE FEEDER because damn who doesn’t want some of that tasty, tasty human blood. Stiles could be potentially wheedled into being a voluntary donor if the cards were played right, but also feel free to plot out less consensual blood sucking.

• EVERYTHING ELSE! I will take it all. Negative CR. Positive CR. Weirdly unsure CR. Stiles will be running around all over the place, so it’s totally possible that he’d venture into your character’s faction territory. If you’re interested in CR with Stiles, we can absolutely make it happen.

Faction Claims: Right now, this definitely is not something he’s going to care about. In the future though, I can see him developing an interest in helping certain factions win territories or interfering with others.

HI STILES. I'm cool with using the TDM as game canon (although maybe we should replace the mention of the Holmes museum with an amorphous non-Holmes detective).

If he wants, Heiji would be happy to teach him some kendo since I think you mentioned his default weapon was a baseball bat and actually you use a two-handed sword for that. But in any case, I had a lot of fun in the TDM and I'm sure there'll be plenty of opportunities to hang out. Maybe Stiles can help fill out Heiji's currently empty phone contact list...

AS FOR KENDO, that would be AMAZING. Hopefully Heiji is patient because he will need it...

Stiles can also come by the cafe if he wants, Heiji might have some extra cake or snacks or something he can donate to Stiles's losing-his-money-down-the-sewer cause!

But in all seriousness, Stiles will probably start hanging by the cafe more and more frequently -- Heiji is a cool dude and Stiles feels comfortable in his company. Just watch him show up when Heiji isn't on shift and then bemoaning his awful timing via a flurry of texts...

AGREED. Looking at your comment to the meme, it sounds like she's invited to parties a lot? Well...this guy certainly isn't BUT I do think he would crash them (or sneak in tbh) if he was trying to gather information on shit. So maybe they could meet up at a formal gathering or something like that? He can be the Aladdin to your Jasmine, Abby, minus the monkey and flying carpet and everything that made Aladdin totally cool.

That sounds great! Him crashing a party she's at would be fun, especially since if he almost got busted, Abby would cover for him because party crashers are interesting. So, they'll be fun to play off each other.

OKAY SO, how about like... Stiles will start looking into all the mysterious deaths that have happened in London (after he realizes it's a supernatural hotspot). Maybe this leads him to coming across an article about Aradia's death and deciding to investigate her old haunts (hahaha pun). That will at least get him in her area/snooping around her business. What do you think, for a start?

2. DO NOT TEASE ME, I'M SHRIEKING. Stiles and Scott's friendship gives me life. Like, 9 times out of 10, if this stupid awful show made me cry, it was one of their bro scenes. THE LIT FLARE IN THE GASOLINE. THE HEAD SCAN SCENE. SCREECHES. Ok ok uhm, Stiles will have absolutely been keeping Scott up to date with everything that he's come across in London and ABSOLUTELY would have mentioned that one of the Hales is here (tho weird he hasn't seen the other survivor of the fire??? where is that girl, Laura???)

1. If sarcasm biceps were a thing then Stiles would be ripped sell me tickets to that gun show okay. Also lmao if this weren't AU, it would be hilarious to me to see Stiles fanboying over having an Avenger teach him anything.

2. NO TEASING. Scott is seriously my bae, he is the one character who I can pick up after having not played him in forever and still be pretty confident about! I ALSO CANNOT WATCH THOSE SCENES WITHOUT GETTING LEGIT TEARS IN MY EYES UGH. bROS for life. I'm gonna toss him on the TDM eventually, I will let you know, and we should do a skype session as one of my samples haha.
