CR Planning: May 2015

Welcome to the Underground! As promised, this is a follow-up post for players who have been accepted into the game to discuss your characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). Feel free to revise your character's history as appropriate to fit in with other characters in the game.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and begin discussing your in-game strategy.
• Start thinking about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

There will be a plotting post on the 18th where you can stake your territory claims for the opening month of the game, choose a prompt from a list of plots and start planning the events listed in the calendar.

Read the factions page to remind yourself who your allies and enemies are, then take a sneaky look at the territories map as it currently stands and have a think about your faction's goals. Do you want to make an aggressive grab for power? Sit tight and defend the territories you've already got? Play nice and build alliances with other factions? There's no right or wrong way to play: the tactics employed by your faction are completely up to you.

As before, this is a player-led discussion, but I'm happy to answer any questions. Happy planning, and I look forward to playing with everyone when the game opens!

Info: MAIN | PERMISSIONS
Ideas/possibilities:

• The murder of Derek's sister is fair game in the supernatural community, and some may also have some knowledge of the Hale name referring to a very old werewolf line, just as a head's up!
  
• Tangentially, Derek has put feelers out to try and find information on aforementioned murder, so if your character would respond to these in any fashion that can be a starting point.
  
• Usually, he'd spend most of his time in werewolf territory, but his will to learn has him exploring the city more fully.
  
• Conflict! Whilst Derek hasn't made any real enemies of his own yet, it's easily done when you're as volatile and vicious as he is. The hackles are up mostly against vampires, but hunters that go after werewolves are also on the list. Negative CR is beyond welcome seriously.
  
• Similarly, he's very protective of his pack's turf. If he finds supernatural entities of any form hanging around, he's likely to at least confront them.
  
• People to either needle at him or just give him knowing nods in an amiable way! Friend is too strong a word for now but I'd love some positive relationships to build on. People he'll look out for, perhaps in spite of himself, basically.
  
• Whether or not we played it out on the TDM, if there's some kind of base CR you'd like to run with please hit me up with it I'm delighted to plot it out.
  
• Seriously though negative or positive gimme it gimme it all. I'm hungry like the wolf.

Faction: As Derek's currently obsessed with his own agenda, he's less interested in faction-wide movements. He'd always be up for more territory though, and he's not about to start playing nice with other groups. Except for Kenzi.

Hmm, idk how far along Derek is in his investigation, but if he ever needs help looking into the murder, Heiji would be delighted to help!

...Also Heiji will be wandering anywhere and everywhere, so he's likely to mosey into Derek's space someday don't tell him where he can't go

He is not very far at all but he'd absolutely seek out Heiji if he caught wind of what he could do - I will just say that the case itself has to be left pretty open I think, just incase of cast mates and how they want to go with things, which I know can be super difficult to work around, so Heiji might find a lot of dead ends.

Derek would appreciate that help either way though even if he's frustrated.

and either way I think it'd be cool for them to meet up that way! especially if they part on an unfriendly note and then Derek shows up like so hey you can detectify things right 8(

Since the Hales are an old supernatural family and so are the Widdowsons, these two have probably at least heard of each other. Abigail won't be very helpful with information about Derek's sister's murder, but she will be willing to help if he runs into blockades that can be removed or lessened with money. Something like that murder? Would unsettle Abigail a lot, so she'd want to help.

Oh yes, absolutely! How much information about them do you think might be open to picking up? While Derek wouldn't have cared that much before, since settling in London he's probably made an effort to learn things like this! c:

As for murder related things, I think Derek would be able to cover financial hurdles - but the Widdowson name and Abby's potential sway in her own right could be really helpful, I think?

Either way, she'll be totally down with helping Derek (and werewolves in general) in any way she can. Since... werewolves and Circle Midnight both are kind of locked out of politics, and she's going to end up an activist.

Most of the Widdowson history is pretty open to the supernatural community. The curse isn't known, but it is assumed because of how many accidents, murders, and suicides plague the Widdowson line. Their use of the Fae to keep themselves alive and having children is... hinted at a lot, but no one has solid proof. Their fortune and how far they date back is well known. The fact that Abby is the last is definitely known, as well as that her mother, father, and baby brother died when she was thirteen.

Okay! I shall keep that in mind. Derek will be able to uncomfortably relate to that as well and he may end up feeling a kind of camaraderie because of it.

OOC Stiles is listed as part of East End Pack, but he obviously doesn't know this IC. He's probably still unaware that the factions are so political. Right now, he's living with his Polish grandparents in Sutton (Circle Daybreak territory). Somehow, we need to work on getting Stiles better integrated with the werewolves. I don't see him moving into East End Pack territory anytime soon (he's 17 and has like no money, it's just not happening), so we do have some danger there -- he's like, a human aware of the supernatural but not yet properly claimed by any group. SOUNDS VERY UNWISE IMO.

Do you have any suggestions or should we brainstorm together over AIM...

I agree! I think those two are definitely the surest means for them to meet so maybe we can follow what those two idiots are up to and use that to our advantage.

Also I was gonna hit you up with this but SINCE WE'RE HERE - once Derek gets to know her a bit more, if he finds out what she does for a living he's likely to be all arms-folded and brooding protectiveness. He'll disapprove but I doubt he'll actually ever say as much - he won't try to stop her and he won't directly involve himself (probably) but he'll definitely try to keep an eye out for her.

Ahaha perfect. So much protectiveness. She will mostly scoff at it and ignore it, but really, it's good to have people in her corner for once. If a vampire gets too involved feel free to unsheathe the claws.
