CR Planning: May 2015

Welcome to the Underground! As promised, this is a follow-up post for players who have been accepted into the game to discuss your characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). Feel free to revise your character's history as appropriate to fit in with other characters in the game.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and begin discussing your in-game strategy.
• Start thinking about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

There will be a plotting post on the 18th where you can stake your territory claims for the opening month of the game, choose a prompt from a list of plots and start planning the events listed in the calendar.

Read the factions page to remind yourself who your allies and enemies are, then take a sneaky look at the territories map as it currently stands and have a think about your faction's goals. Do you want to make an aggressive grab for power? Sit tight and defend the territories you've already got? Play nice and build alliances with other factions? There's no right or wrong way to play: the tactics employed by your faction are completely up to you.

As before, this is a player-led discussion, but I'm happy to answer any questions. Happy planning, and I look forward to playing with everyone when the game opens!

Name: Clint Barton
Faction/Role: Hillingdon Clan/Hunter

CR ideas!
-Clint has been in town for a week or so, so he'll probably have met other members of the Hillingdon Clan just from hanging out at their super secret clubhouse
-Before arriving in London, he operated out of the American Midwest (insert Winchester reference here) for over a decade, so if your character is from that region and dealt in supernatural shenanigans, there's a chance they might have bumped into each other.
-He'll occasionally be hanging around whatever archery range is nearest the Hillingdon mansion, and also archery shops and the gym. Guess I should have put those in the world-building section haha.
-If your character is interested in learning to shoot, he'd be open to giving a few lessons.
-Clint has no actual job aside from hunting, as he sold his house and property last year and has just been kind of coasting along on his savings. He'll get one in the future once his funds run out. Probably open up his own archery shop--customizations and classes and such.
-Please point him in the direction of the best pizza places around town, he neeeeds them.

Faction stuff!
Clint isn't really going to be into politics right off the bat, but he'll definitely defend Hillingdon Clan if anybody tries to take them out, and he'll stand with them if they decide to go anywhere. If the Islington Nest tries to take over any territory, he might try to stand against them just on principle because he h8s vampires.

Hmm, a few possibilities... Heiji would be interested in archery, he's going to make it his business to find the best pizza places (and Italian joints, and sandwich shops, and...) around town, and he does speak English with an American accent and know more in general about America than England. So I'm not sure how observant Clint is, but that could be interesting, too.

As a former spy, Clint is pretty good with accents, but he doesn't speak Japanese. He'd definitely pick up on the difference between American pronunciations and British, though!

Clint could be lugging around his bow case and bump into Heiji in a pizza shop. they could spark up conversation that way haha. c:

Kenzi is obsessed (obsessed, I tell you!) with a good slice of za.

Also she could supply him with cheap magical things for hunting if he wants them!

Both of these things are A+!

He can definitely find wood and silver on his own, but he'll need a supplier for stuff like wolfsbane. Also he'll probably be suspicious of her other magical things and feel the need to poke around and idk touch cursed stuff or whatever lol

SO I was thinking about potential ways for these two to meet and the most obvious one seems like, if Clint is still fresh meat and likely to be getting the lay of the land, he encounters Derek in werewolf or contested territory. BUT I'm not sure what kind of indication there might be that Clint was a hunter, or even if he'd say as much - unleeeeess (wow thinking as I type great plan) maybe he's on a hunt and has a bow on him like a nerd? Maybe it's a werewolf gone wrong? Maybe it's a vampire and they hunt together? Maybe Clint is just looking for good pizza and Derek grudgingly directs him??

Aaaa, it would be awesome if they ended up hunting together. If it is a vampire that they hunt, then they'd probably bond over the fact that vampires are dicks. Maybe become tentative acquaintances. Clint knows there are werewolves who keep themselves under control, and he doesn't have the kind of blind hatred toward them that he does for vampires. But he's never actually hung out with one before haha.

YES EXCELLENT. Derek will have, at best, mixed feelings about him (to begin with) but that can be said for literally everyone he knows rn He'll have bones to pick about the idea of Clint potentially going after his own pack members even if they do go out of control, since he sees that as his own responsibility, but it'll set them off in good stead if they're going after a mutual enemy.
