CR Planning: May 2015

Welcome to the Underground! As promised, this is a follow-up post for players who have been accepted into the game to discuss your characters' AU backgrounds with canonmates and other characters, and to establish pre-existing CR (character relations). Feel free to revise your character's history as appropriate to fit in with other characters in the game.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and begin discussing your in-game strategy.
• Start thinking about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

There will be a plotting post on the 18th where you can stake your territory claims for the opening month of the game, choose a prompt from a list of plots and start planning the events listed in the calendar.

Read the factions page to remind yourself who your allies and enemies are, then take a sneaky look at the territories map as it currently stands and have a think about your faction's goals. Do you want to make an aggressive grab for power? Sit tight and defend the territories you've already got? Play nice and build alliances with other factions? There's no right or wrong way to play: the tactics employed by your faction are completely up to you.

As before, this is a player-led discussion, but I'm happy to answer any questions. Happy planning, and I look forward to playing with everyone when the game opens!

Faction Claims: Will is the laziest of cats, HOWEVER he can be convinced to help out other Hillingdon members if they can out-logic him in a verbal fist fight. He can also be caught via owed favors to be used like a one-use Problem Fixer by any other faction, but he doesn't owe anyone jack right now.

Also I got eaten by work then by P4AU all hail elizabeth and I have more time to do shit tomorrow, so if anyone still doesn't mind tags on the TDM, I still owe four of you. I didn't drop you /cuddles you all to bosom

So fae are supposed to avoid outcast fae, but maybe we could set it up so our characters meet without both of them strictly knowing who the other one is? I assume that if Willard's a mystery writer, Heiji would be interested in meeting him and it would be amusingly awkward to find out later that he's supposed to be avoiding... Willard...

Yeah, I guess fae are also supposed to sense other supernatural beings, too, but maybe Heiji would kind of overlook that if he was hunting down an author :|a

He could always do the time-honored tradition of stealing names from other authors/mystery stories.

Realtalk, I'm tempted to do that because Haha Van Dine Expy My Canons Why but at the same time, on a personal level, his last few books annoy me SO MUCH. So much.
And I think it's fun to try and have players figure it out too. Join in the mystery puzzle shit abyss with meeee

Anyway, I have long since learned that any character I love 9 times outta 10 dies in some terrible fashion. The faster you accept it, the quicker you can be pleasantly surprised when they don't die. It's great.

I would be soooo down for him and Clara knowing each other in the game because yes please. I really love these two's dynamics and I enjoy the image in my head of Clara eagerly suggesting books to him when he drops by because she just heard of this amazing story/author have you heard of them? She thinks you'll like it/them! Except half of her recommendations are his soooo.

Stiles will probably be frequenting libraries as well, so I'm sure they'll bump into each other there. I'd love to see their CR seesaw between negative and positive -- positive because Will is a funny dude and Stiles likes his humor, negative because HOLY SHIT DUDE YOU CAN'T JUST KILL PEOPLE. It'll be great.
