November 2015 Plotting Post
November 2015
Here is your November plotting post! You can make use of the information here to plot what your character will be doing in the next month. This month is faction reward time – the winning faction will collect their reward this month to be played out in December. Check out the calendar for a quick summary of when things are happening.
Factions
The days are getting shorter, and the nights colder and darker. The fae have mostly stayed within their own territories, but that's about to change. As the winter chill increases, so does the power of the Unseelie Court. November is a time of mischief and mayhem, and the fae like to play games.
Elsewhere, there have been attempts to restore order. Circle Daybreak successfully took control of the dangerous territory of Lambeth, sealing off the area from fae attempting to cross over from the Other Realm.
Territories
Circle Daybreak has taken over Lambeth, thus putting an end to the last refuge of underground criminals in the city. Many have now taken up residence in Greenwich, making an already volatile territory even more dangerous.
The Redbright Institute and Circle Daybreak are jointly the most powerful factions in the city, with six territories each. Greenwich is currently a disputed territory, claimed by vampires and werewolves alike. See the Territories page for more information.
If your faction would like to claim a new territory, please comment to the appropriate thread. Players will then have three days from the date and time of the initial claim to sign up for the conflict. Anyone can sign up, but please only volunteer your character if they are a member of a faction involved in the conflict or they have IC reasons to actively help out. Please do not volunteer if you won't be able to participate in the plot.
If the outcome of the conflict is not already guaranteed, I will then look at the sign-ups list to calculate which faction will emerge victorious. It is up to players to plan and play out the actual conflict itself. If you comment to claim a territory, then you should also take the lead in planning and organizing it.
Minions
The following lucky minions will be promoted this month:
These minions will decide to leave town this month:
And these less fortunate minions will sadly die this month:
Factions may decide how and when their minions die, leave town or receive a promotion. Feel free to work these developments into any of this month's plots.
Drops
The following characters will be leaving this month:
Their faction may decide the exact details of how characters leave and incorporate their exit into their plots if they wish.

Plots
The following prompts are up for grabs this month:
About plots and events
• You may claim one plot prompt per month.
• You can also run your own plots based on the events listed above, or create your own.
• If you claim a plot, then you also volunteer to take the lead OOCly i.e. planning and organizing with other players, deciding on the outcome, setting a timeline etc.
• Once you have claimed a plot, you should introduce it ICly within the next month.
• Plots may not be entirely handwaved. You may handwave some of the plot, but you should play out at least part of it.
• Some plots will require NPCs as well as player characters to fill different roles. Please feel free to make up and play the NPCs yourselves.
• Plots are generally open-ended enough that you can make them big or small. It is up to the player who claims the plot to decide how they would like to handle it. You may want to do open sign-ups for your plot and specify whether there is a limit on how many characters can participate.
• Plots can also be self-contained or form part of an ongoing storyline. Again, it is your choice on how you would like to handle it.
• Please feel free to integrate plots and events or join plots up where appropriate. For example, if you claim a plot that involves a murder, why not choose an event during which the murder could happen? As long as the mod and other players are aware of your plans, I'm happy to accommodate.
• Do not ask the mod to explain what the plot is and what your character should do or discover. That is up to you. These plot ideas are just that, ideas, and it is up to you to run with them and decide how and why these events are happening, what your characters are going to do about it, and what the consequences will be.
• You may ask the mod questions pertaining to game mythology, to check that what you are planning to do makes sense within the game world.
• This list is not meant to be limiting in any way! Player plots are also very welcome.
• If you have an idea for a player plot, please feel free to comment here and see if there is any interest. Run it by the mod first if you're unsure of anything.

Minions
The following lucky minions will be promoted this month:
Michelle Baxter | Witch, Circle Midnight | Level 1
‣ A secondary school girl who has become politically active as a witch, "championing" the cause of Circle Midnight via neighbourhood petitions.
Sigga | Fae, Unseelie Court | Level 1
‣ Sigvaldi is another version of a Banshee called a Bean Sidhe (Woman of the hills): she is drawn to death, and can sometimes predict it. She could be mistaken for a ghost with her long ragged pale hair and torn skirts. She uses wind and her own screams (which can cause a heart to temporarily stop and muscles to freeze for an instant) as her weapons.
These minions will decide to leave town this month:
Gregory Masters | Witch, Circle Midnight | Level 1
‣ A middle-aged man who is extremely interested in the academia of witchcraft.
Dandy Mott | Vampire, Islington Nest | Level 2
‣ 200-year old American vampire who dresses like he never left the 1950s. Often childish, frequently violent.
Cassandra Kalivas | Vampire, Islington Nest | Level 1
‣ Turned during WWII, Cassandra has a cowardly streak that hasn't let her advance far in the nest.
Deborah Leofric | Meta Human, Redbright Institute | Level 1
‣ A spirited young woman who, while not the most academically-inclined student, has a strong passion for helping others out if she can. She has prehensile hair that she controls with her mind.
Hui | Fae, Seelie Court | Level 1
‣ A fae capable of Earth manipulation. He speaks little but seems to see all.
Mellifera | Fae, Seelie Court | Level 1
‣ A chatty bee-like fae who loves to gossip and has a surprisingly powerful sting. Twin sister of Apsi.
Huwcyn | Fae, Unseelie Court | Level 1
‣ Huwcyn is a hob, about five feet tall. Squat and thick, with rubbery-looking muscle he has a baboon-like physique, with wicked-looking claws, long, ropey tail, and massive shoulders. He has an ape-like faces with stretched black skin, shark-like teeth and, most notably, no eyes, though he can see in the dark. All hobs tend to drag their victims into the darkness and they feed on humans. Huwcyn can take orders but he still tends to get sidetracked if he's hungry.
And these less fortunate minions will sadly die this month:
Harold Williams | Vampire, Islington Nest | Level 1
‣ A 200-year old vampire who insists everyone calls him 'Sir Harold'. Stuffy and pompous, he's also very wealthy, and keeps the nest's activities well funded.
Jian | Fae, Seelie Court | Level 1
‣ A fae capable of Earth manipulation. He tends to be chatty and always has an anecdote.
Factions may decide how and when their minions die, leave town or receive a promotion. Feel free to work these developments into any of this month's plots.
Drops
The following characters will be leaving this month:
John Cooper | Islington Nest |emotioneater | Stays in town
Their faction may decide the exact details of how characters leave and incorporate their exit into their plots if they wish.
Events
6th-27th November – GHOST BUSTING. The aftermath of Samhain always leads to increased ghostly and other spirit activity. The Night Council therefore carry out a clean-up operation in November, which is informally known as ghost busting although many of the apparent spirits they drive out are actually fae. Hunters, witches, mediums and exorcists of all kinds are encouraged to respond to reports of local hauntings and other strange activity. There is mercy in helping ghosts to pass on this month: witches know that the Night of the Crossroads is coming, and no one wants to be hunted by the forces that emerge that night.
25th November – FULL MOON. Werewolves, it's that time of the month! Will you chain yourself up or spend the night in a cage? Roam wild in the London parks? Or perhaps find a witch to make you a wolfsbane potion. Whatever you choose, better be prepared.
26th November – ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND.* Today marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. In honour of this great occasion, the fae have created their own version of Wonderland... and you've fallen down the rabbit hole. Participating characters will be trapped for up to three days in the Wonderland version of the Other Realm. The fae of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts can play the roles of Wonderland characters, drawing other characters into their game.
30th November – NIGHT OF THE CROSSROADS. On this night the Men with Sticks and Rope emerge from the dark to take all those who have evaded their grasp. Ghosts beware: this is a time of death and a time of change. For witches, the night's magic makes it easier to call upon or banish spirits and to walk among the dead.
*There will be a mod-posted log for this event.
Plots
The following prompts are up for grabs this month:
1) There is a bounty on a rogue witch who has been practising necromancy. Reports of bodies being stolen from graveyards are a little worrying... Reward: £750
2) A well-meaning student is using their powers of vocal manipulation to turn their peers into well-behaved, cult-like followers.
3) You kill someone and they come back as a ghost to haunt you. Oops.
4) An abandoned Tube station is now a vampire nest. The only problem is, a film company have decided to film some scenes on location there. When one of the lead actors is found dead, it gets complicated. – Claimed by Frank

QUESTIONS
CLAIM A TERRITORY
Plot lead(s): Who is going to run this plot? This should be you, but you can also list any other players who will be co-running the plot with you.
Faction: The faction that is claiming the territory.
Territory claimed: The territory that you are making a move on. It must be adjacent to a territory that your faction already owns.
When this will happen: Give the timeline for your plot. This should be in the next month. If you haven't decided on an exact date yet, a rough approximation is fine.
And here is the same information in a handy form for you to fill out:
Once a claim has been posted, players should then reply to the comment to sign up. Please specify which side of the conflict your character will be supporting.

NORRELL: HIGH PRIEST OF DAYBREAK
He will probably spend a little while settling in and taking stock, because Norrell is a meticulous sort of fellow who would, in fact, read the small print -- but after that I am free game for whatever people would like to do with him. I can see him starting to try and 'tighten things up' in his own ways.
(He will also be very angry about fae having fun with their wonderland)
If anyone wants to wage war against him, let me know! If you want to meet with him and try and talk reasonably with him, let me know! If you want to try and form an alliance with Daybreak through him, let me know! If you want to broker a deal, blackmail, launch into political debate -- I am open to all of it! I full expect him to get some flack, but of course it would be fun if some people would like to try and gently lead him to better paths too! After all, Norrell is not an inherently evil person. He's just.... stubborn. He will listen to people around him! Even if he doesn't credit them after the fact. Just ask Childermass.

LANCELOT: NIGHT COUNCIL GUARDIAN
He has never used magic before and is going to be decidedly rubbish for a while. If anyone wants to help him be less rubbish, he would absolutely appreciate it!
He's also still quietly learning about Midnight Witches, and trying to subtly persuade them to try being nice and making friends and not, you know, rebelling and waging war against Daybreak. If you'd like to talk to him about this, challenge him, being subtly learnt-about by him or anything like that I am totally up for it!
As a Guardian, Lance will also be GHOST BUSTING. Do you want to GHOST BUST? LET US GHOST-BUST. PS Lancelot has never ghost-busted before in his life. Don't be alarmed if he accidentally TK's a chair across the room when startled.
I might have him fall into fae land too. Lancelot has, after all, been there before! If anyone wants to be confused and alarmed in fae-land with him while he suffers flashbacks, SPEAK NOW and we can do something! c:

since Nancy's already subject to an investigation. and Lance knows. the most about her. not cool, Lance. More stuff with that, yes.

Siobhan Aitken | Circle Daybreak witch
Her approach to ghost busting is most likely going to be trying to make friends with ghosts so I am very open to this getting her into some serious trouble if anyone would like to save her butt or something similar.
The full moon is another opportunity for trouble because yes she is a bit of a damsel in distress due to her SEVERE LACK OF SELF-PRESERVATION.
I'm open to anything and want lots of CR. Siobhan will seriously try to befriend just about anyone so if you want a cheerful little empath to throw herself at your character look no further.

VAMPIRES ON THE UNDERGROUND
VAMPIRES IN THE GATES OF HELLRight-o!
I'm thinking the actor who was so rudely eaten was a 'client' of Eames', and he's p annoyed because they never got to pay their debt before this whole "being dead" situation. Essentially this'll probably be a fairly cut and dry plot.
He's gonna want to take one or two people to actually find out what the deal is. He's thinking it's just one vampire hanging out in tube tunnels on their lonesome and so it's a "hey let's go kill this asshole" kind of thing. Once he finds out it's a nest, he's probably gonna push to just exterminate the whole lot of them. Given the Council's position on murdering vamps, someone may object or this could have some annoying repercussions for him.
So essentially I'm thinking this'll happen in three stages.
Thoughts, ideas, complications?

FAOLAN: HILLINGDON CLAN LEADER
As I've discussed in a few places previously, I have been figuring that he's been put into the Night Council Guardians by some of the people who were "higher ups" in Hillingdon, who are of the opinion that Hillingdon shouldn't get involved with much of the politics (ironically BUT the other side wants to throw down the Night Council and could potentially create mass chaos in doing so which is PROBABLY NOT GOOD at least in Faolan's mind). Sylvia was intrigued by a Hillingdoner in the Guardians and immediately ordered secret reports back on Hillingdon activity (which has been minimal for the most part but he'll be giving the reports anyway, on the off-chance the Night Council need to step in anywhere is her view).
WHAT I AM THINKING IS THAT he's been doing such a good job walking both lines that he's gained enough influence to rise above even the handwaved npcs who would have elected him to the Guardianship, and that's why he's Hillingdon Clan Leader. He didn't really aspire to be there, he's just good at following orders (AND SPOILERS: HE ACTUALLY DOES CARE ABOUT PEOPLE???) so it's a good place for him to be in.
HILLINGDONERS -- I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE CR WITH ALL OF YOU NOW THAT HE'S IN THIS SPOT. To explain Faolan in a nutshell, he's grumpy, standoffish, and Irish. Short. Just your average human, not a shifter or anything like that, but he DOES have a really cool magic gun. And he's a Night Council Guardian, but that's being kept mostly on the down-low bc he's actually...undercover for Sylvia right now with Circle Midnight.
As Kenzi's bodyguard, which means that CIRCLE MIDNIGHT I WOULD LOVE CR WITH ANY OF YOU GUYS AS WELL??? You might have seen him around in that job already -- he'll be going by Dubhan in that assignment.
TL;DR PLEASE COME PLOT WITH THIS SOURPUSS

CHILDERMASS: DAYBREAK WITCH, NORRELLITE COVEN
FOR THOSE IN CIRCLE DAYBREAK/WHO WANT CR WITH THOSE IN CIRCLE DAYBREAK -- I'd love to have CR with you guys, as Childermass really is Norrell's underling and responsible for the majority of his affairs. It's a good way to get through to Norrell without all the self-important attitude behind it, really. Childermass is by no means a soft character, but he's easy enough to get along with, unlike SOME PEOPLE. He will stand by Mr Norrell no matter what but that does not mean that he believes in every decision he has made at all.
Childermass might be doing a little ghost busting and doing his part to generally protect the house from them (unbeknownst to Norrell of course) so if you would like to do some ghost busting with him as well let me know. HE IS PRETTY MUCH UP FOR ANYTHING AT THIS POINT!
Arthur | Hillingdon Hunter
I’m planning to have a post up with him sometime in the middle of this month so all of this can be worked into it if you want to plot! If you don’t already have me added on plurk just head on over to

kill all the witches & vampireshave some political sway. He may be a bit broken but he’s good at hiding it. So otherwise these are the plans I have/things I’m looking for...That’s all I have for now! As I said with Arthur I am open to all types of CR so just hit me up if you want to get anything with this guy and I’ll definitely try and make it work!

Which means he'd be marginally less confused than some other people and probably a fae could feel that he was a bit fae-ish.

Nancy | Circle Midnight Witch
alliances&enemies so whoops she went down a level because I got lazy and didn't want to collect points. my fault. BUT she's still one of the founding members of shadow coven. and currently is like a gajillion percent anti-Sylvia. Seriously, that's what it comes down to is Sylvia. So she's somehow sort of involved in all of that despite her dislike of politics. but she tries to take the whole thing on a case by case basis. So if you're a cool daybreak person, she'll like you. If you're not, then I'm sorry, but you've got a short redhead who doesn't like you, you are screwed.
But she really, other than that, doesn't have any negative CR and this should change.
clients you know, the usual. prostitute, gotta make her money. if any of your characters wants to have had a roll in the hay for a few pounds, feel free. if there were vamps I'd say 'if you want to have fed off of her' but we have no vampires and this is the world's biggest tragedy, let me tell you.
wonderland THIS WILL BE FUN. Nancy's no stranger to the other realm, and I'm thinking that her time in wonderland is going to be more of a nightmare than anything else. a time for some fae that have issues with her dad to take them out on her. Fagin will also be around, looking for kidlets who fell down the rabbit hole. He'll probably be the carpenter.
other hit me up.

Annie | Hillingdon Hunter
hillingdon so some of you may have heard of this kid because she was the lone survivor of a complete and total massacre at a hunting academy a few years ago. It left her extremely damaged, and is an outsider amongst outsiders. She keeps to the outskirts, but when she goes hunting, she's a force to be reckoned with. Feel free to hate her and think she's insane. Negative and positive CR from hunters is always great.
enemies she hates vampires, obviously. and witches, because of what they did to finnick- that's right, she's dating the hottest fae in all the universes. Maybe you're jealous that a guy like him would wind up with a girl like her?
wonderland I currently have no plans, so if you want annie to be part of yours, you know what to do.
other let me know

Be careful what you wish for.
Since then, Simon's been on the hunt for his biological parents because he has questions about being a shifter that he needs answers to. It's been seven years since then and he hasn't had much luck, but after agreeing to trade his dignity to Sylvia Redbright for help, this month he's finally going to find them.
Too bad it isn't exactly going to be the happy reunion he'd envisioned.
The ideal outcome of this plot is that Simon is going to have to kill a member of his biological family in order to protect his adopted one and become a skinwalker. Would a fae be willing to help out in that regard? Also, I know that we talked about having Matt and Skip help out, but anyone else who wants to join in is welcome to.
Thanks!

Of course, he needs to discover that Simon is a puppy first...

As always, I can also be found over at

Which (along with murder of distant relatives) is how he regained his seat (considered to be his family's) in the House of Lords and become the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis.
He has several items on his agenda now that he's looking to make a name for himself in Islington and London as a whole.
Fae: Ultimately, Coward doesn't care one way or another about fae. They're a nice snack but they're powerful, so he generally likes to leave them alone. However, fae conquering land in this realm? Tends to press people's buttons, so it's a great issue to get started with. Which is why he's striking at a fae territory. Ask him, and he'll tell you it's because they have a whole realm to themselves and don't need to be exerting their domination in this one, too.
Witches: Coward was once the Witch Representative on the Night Council and served in a Daybreak and Midnight coven both. The only thing he really regrets about being a vampire is that he no longer has his witch magic. That being said? He generally likes witches, both Midnight and Daybreak. His main focus is going to be Daybreak right now because, well. The fae make for good common enemies, and that's Daybreak's whole thing.
Werewolves: Coward is (temporarily) looking to break from tradition. Again, he can cite the danger of the fae. So long as they are allowed to maintain a strong presence in the mortal realm, no one is safe, so he'll be trying to work out a ceasefire with the werewolves. It is in no way an alliance. As soon as the fae are handled, they can go right back to killing each other, but it's a temporary ceasing of hostilities to focus on a larger issue. For awhile.
Those are his big concerns right now. But he is a politician (in both worlds) and London's police commissioner, so anything to do with any of that, I'm totally open for. I'm looking forward to any and all CR, positive or negative.
For anyone who doesn't know, I'm
LEWISHAM CLAIM
To that effect, he's going to be (in the open post that should go up tomorrow) approaching various factions to work out deals.
I know he'll be approaching Circle Daybreak and East End Pack (for a brief cessation of hostilities). I'm considering him approaching Redbright Institute and Hillingdon Clan if he can find some pro-vampire or anti-fae sentiment there.
Anyone who wants to have a thread along those lines, let me know. And I'd love to get some plotting for Lewisham, even if we won't know the results for a couple of days.
Zuko | hillingdon clan member | outcast fae
