November 2015 Plotting Post
November 2015
Here is your November plotting post! You can make use of the information here to plot what your character will be doing in the next month. This month is faction reward time – the winning faction will collect their reward this month to be played out in December. Check out the calendar for a quick summary of when things are happening.
Factions
The days are getting shorter, and the nights colder and darker. The fae have mostly stayed within their own territories, but that's about to change. As the winter chill increases, so does the power of the Unseelie Court. November is a time of mischief and mayhem, and the fae like to play games.
Elsewhere, there have been attempts to restore order. Circle Daybreak successfully took control of the dangerous territory of Lambeth, sealing off the area from fae attempting to cross over from the Other Realm.
Territories
Circle Daybreak has taken over Lambeth, thus putting an end to the last refuge of underground criminals in the city. Many have now taken up residence in Greenwich, making an already volatile territory even more dangerous.
The Redbright Institute and Circle Daybreak are jointly the most powerful factions in the city, with six territories each. Greenwich is currently a disputed territory, claimed by vampires and werewolves alike. See the Territories page for more information.
If your faction would like to claim a new territory, please comment to the appropriate thread. Players will then have three days from the date and time of the initial claim to sign up for the conflict. Anyone can sign up, but please only volunteer your character if they are a member of a faction involved in the conflict or they have IC reasons to actively help out. Please do not volunteer if you won't be able to participate in the plot.
If the outcome of the conflict is not already guaranteed, I will then look at the sign-ups list to calculate which faction will emerge victorious. It is up to players to plan and play out the actual conflict itself. If you comment to claim a territory, then you should also take the lead in planning and organizing it.
Minions
The following lucky minions will be promoted this month:
These minions will decide to leave town this month:
And these less fortunate minions will sadly die this month:
Factions may decide how and when their minions die, leave town or receive a promotion. Feel free to work these developments into any of this month's plots.
Drops
The following characters will be leaving this month:
Their faction may decide the exact details of how characters leave and incorporate their exit into their plots if they wish.

Plots
The following prompts are up for grabs this month:
About plots and events
• You may claim one plot prompt per month.
• You can also run your own plots based on the events listed above, or create your own.
• If you claim a plot, then you also volunteer to take the lead OOCly i.e. planning and organizing with other players, deciding on the outcome, setting a timeline etc.
• Once you have claimed a plot, you should introduce it ICly within the next month.
• Plots may not be entirely handwaved. You may handwave some of the plot, but you should play out at least part of it.
• Some plots will require NPCs as well as player characters to fill different roles. Please feel free to make up and play the NPCs yourselves.
• Plots are generally open-ended enough that you can make them big or small. It is up to the player who claims the plot to decide how they would like to handle it. You may want to do open sign-ups for your plot and specify whether there is a limit on how many characters can participate.
• Plots can also be self-contained or form part of an ongoing storyline. Again, it is your choice on how you would like to handle it.
• Please feel free to integrate plots and events or join plots up where appropriate. For example, if you claim a plot that involves a murder, why not choose an event during which the murder could happen? As long as the mod and other players are aware of your plans, I'm happy to accommodate.
• Do not ask the mod to explain what the plot is and what your character should do or discover. That is up to you. These plot ideas are just that, ideas, and it is up to you to run with them and decide how and why these events are happening, what your characters are going to do about it, and what the consequences will be.
• You may ask the mod questions pertaining to game mythology, to check that what you are planning to do makes sense within the game world.
• This list is not meant to be limiting in any way! Player plots are also very welcome.
• If you have an idea for a player plot, please feel free to comment here and see if there is any interest. Run it by the mod first if you're unsure of anything.

Minions
The following lucky minions will be promoted this month:
Michelle Baxter | Witch, Circle Midnight | Level 1
‣ A secondary school girl who has become politically active as a witch, "championing" the cause of Circle Midnight via neighbourhood petitions.
Sigga | Fae, Unseelie Court | Level 1
‣ Sigvaldi is another version of a Banshee called a Bean Sidhe (Woman of the hills): she is drawn to death, and can sometimes predict it. She could be mistaken for a ghost with her long ragged pale hair and torn skirts. She uses wind and her own screams (which can cause a heart to temporarily stop and muscles to freeze for an instant) as her weapons.
These minions will decide to leave town this month:
Gregory Masters | Witch, Circle Midnight | Level 1
‣ A middle-aged man who is extremely interested in the academia of witchcraft.
Dandy Mott | Vampire, Islington Nest | Level 2
‣ 200-year old American vampire who dresses like he never left the 1950s. Often childish, frequently violent.
Cassandra Kalivas | Vampire, Islington Nest | Level 1
‣ Turned during WWII, Cassandra has a cowardly streak that hasn't let her advance far in the nest.
Deborah Leofric | Meta Human, Redbright Institute | Level 1
‣ A spirited young woman who, while not the most academically-inclined student, has a strong passion for helping others out if she can. She has prehensile hair that she controls with her mind.
Hui | Fae, Seelie Court | Level 1
‣ A fae capable of Earth manipulation. He speaks little but seems to see all.
Mellifera | Fae, Seelie Court | Level 1
‣ A chatty bee-like fae who loves to gossip and has a surprisingly powerful sting. Twin sister of Apsi.
Huwcyn | Fae, Unseelie Court | Level 1
‣ Huwcyn is a hob, about five feet tall. Squat and thick, with rubbery-looking muscle he has a baboon-like physique, with wicked-looking claws, long, ropey tail, and massive shoulders. He has an ape-like faces with stretched black skin, shark-like teeth and, most notably, no eyes, though he can see in the dark. All hobs tend to drag their victims into the darkness and they feed on humans. Huwcyn can take orders but he still tends to get sidetracked if he's hungry.
And these less fortunate minions will sadly die this month:
Harold Williams | Vampire, Islington Nest | Level 1
‣ A 200-year old vampire who insists everyone calls him 'Sir Harold'. Stuffy and pompous, he's also very wealthy, and keeps the nest's activities well funded.
Jian | Fae, Seelie Court | Level 1
‣ A fae capable of Earth manipulation. He tends to be chatty and always has an anecdote.
Factions may decide how and when their minions die, leave town or receive a promotion. Feel free to work these developments into any of this month's plots.
Drops
The following characters will be leaving this month:
John Cooper | Islington Nest |emotioneater | Stays in town
Their faction may decide the exact details of how characters leave and incorporate their exit into their plots if they wish.
Events
6th-27th November – GHOST BUSTING. The aftermath of Samhain always leads to increased ghostly and other spirit activity. The Night Council therefore carry out a clean-up operation in November, which is informally known as ghost busting although many of the apparent spirits they drive out are actually fae. Hunters, witches, mediums and exorcists of all kinds are encouraged to respond to reports of local hauntings and other strange activity. There is mercy in helping ghosts to pass on this month: witches know that the Night of the Crossroads is coming, and no one wants to be hunted by the forces that emerge that night.
25th November – FULL MOON. Werewolves, it's that time of the month! Will you chain yourself up or spend the night in a cage? Roam wild in the London parks? Or perhaps find a witch to make you a wolfsbane potion. Whatever you choose, better be prepared.
26th November – ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND.* Today marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. In honour of this great occasion, the fae have created their own version of Wonderland... and you've fallen down the rabbit hole. Participating characters will be trapped for up to three days in the Wonderland version of the Other Realm. The fae of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts can play the roles of Wonderland characters, drawing other characters into their game.
30th November – NIGHT OF THE CROSSROADS. On this night the Men with Sticks and Rope emerge from the dark to take all those who have evaded their grasp. Ghosts beware: this is a time of death and a time of change. For witches, the night's magic makes it easier to call upon or banish spirits and to walk among the dead.
*There will be a mod-posted log for this event.
Plots
The following prompts are up for grabs this month:
1) There is a bounty on a rogue witch who has been practising necromancy. Reports of bodies being stolen from graveyards are a little worrying... Reward: £750
2) A well-meaning student is using their powers of vocal manipulation to turn their peers into well-behaved, cult-like followers.
3) You kill someone and they come back as a ghost to haunt you. Oops.
4) An abandoned Tube station is now a vampire nest. The only problem is, a film company have decided to film some scenes on location there. When one of the lead actors is found dead, it gets complicated. – Claimed by Frank
