Faction Reward: August 2015
It's time to give out the game's first faction reward! Every three months or so, the faction with the highest amount of plot involvement will have the opportunity to claim a reward. The winning faction is decided based on the average number of plots and events run per player over the last three months.
So, without further ado, the winner is...
CIRCLE MIDNIGHT!
Congratulations! You can now choose one of the following rewards:
• Gain a territory.
• Change a law in your faction's favour.
• Form an alliance with another faction.
Circle Midnight players, you have until 26th August to vote for your preferred reward. Once you have selected your reward, you can then work out the details in the upcoming plotting post.
If you vote to gain a territory, you should decide what territory you'd like to win. If you vote to change a law, please discuss your options with me – you will need mod permission for your proposed change. Finally, if you vote to form an alliance with another faction, then it's a good idea to bring players of the other faction into the discussion to check that ICly an alliance could be made. The two groups will then be considered together as a single faction for the next round of group rewards.
Whichever reward you choose will ICly happen in September. A member of your faction will therefore need to volunteer to lead the plot in the upcoming plotting post. Have fun with it, guys, and keep on being awesome.

And is there a list of the laws in effect that I'm not seeing? I'm sorry for asking if it's obvious, but I just can't find it. /derp

One more question!
In the case of either a law or a territory being chosen as the reward, is what that territory/law is player-chosen or mod-decided?
Never mind. I can't read.

The Night Council laws are listed on the Night Council page! In addition, I recently posted more information about influencing Night Council laws in the bribery post. This comment gives more detail about what might be possible to influence.
Changing the law doesn't only have to be about the seven major laws listed on the Night Council page. It could also mean changing the rules about how the Night Council operates, as outlined in the bribery post. For example, at present Circle Midnight cannot put forward any candidates as potential Representatives.

What Circle Midnight would like to do is submit a petition to have a seat on the Night Council representation on the basis that neither Circle should be asked to speak for the other as well as themselves when dealing with new laws/debates.

- The Night Council will need to be persuaded to agree to this. Whether you go for threats or love-bombing or something in-between is up to you. I'd be happy to plot with you and work things out.
- One argument against is going to be that there can only be five, seven or twelve seats on the Council. Therefore if you add an extra witch seat, a second seat will also need to be added to bring the total up to seven. Something to think about!
- As mentioned above, this would be a long-term plot. The Night Council elections are due to run in January, so this gives you until the end of the year to get them to agree to give you a seat. My recommended timeline would be to start off in September, aim to submit a successful petition in October and know who your candidate(s) will be in December. Since you have selected this as your faction reward, your petition is guaranteed to be successful, but I would want to see IC things happening to justify it.
- I think the underlying basis of all this is that Circle Midnight are looking to be recognized as a legitimate faction. If you want to persuade other factions that you can work with them, you might need to make compromises. What would you be willing to give up? What favours could you offer?
- If Sylvia is going to even consider this, she will demand to know the identities of the Midnight witches. She will want all Midnight covens to declare themselves in public.
- Someone will need to volunteer to run the plot. That person doesn't necessarily have to take on the full responsibility of running an ongoing plot right up until the end of the year. You could take it in turns if you like: one player runs activity in September, another the next month and so on. That's up to you.
Have a think about it and let me know if you have any questions!

However, we're just curious as to if you have any suggestions for lesser changes that can be made with a shorter-term plot, etc. We're totally willing to give this the time it needs (and will probably still pursue this, just with a longer time-table and without the guaranteed success of the petition), but we'd like to know if you have any suggestions for other options.

Regarding law changes, lesser changes that could be made a bit sooner might include the ability to nominate and/or vote for the witch representative, being able to vote for the President/Vice-President, or making it illegal to kill any witch.
