CR Planning: July 2015

Welcome to the Underground! Newbies, we're very excited to have you! As mentioned in the calendar, there will be a welcome log posted on the 19th for newbies and current players alike to mingle. However, don't feel that you can't post until then, feel free to jump in right away! In the meantime, this post is a free-for-all for everyone to make new CR and figure out how to get involved with the game.

You can use this post to:

• Discuss your character's background history with other players and make changes where needed.
• Work out shared history with canonmates and build in cross-canon CR.
• Say what kind of CR you're looking for and reply to others to offer CR.
• Say hi to the members of your faction and discuss your in-game strategy.
• Think about what territories you might want to make a claim on.

The plotting post for July is still live with a couple of prompts left to claim, so please do feel free to use it!

I also want to add a quick reminder about the HMD meme that went up a couple of days ago, and in particular my request for feedback on the game. I've had a lot of great feedback already and am very happy to hear more suggestions, whether you've just joined or you've been around since the beginning. I will be starting to make the changes discussed from this weekend onwards, and more input is always welcome.

Killian Jones/Captain Hook — Once Upon a Time

Hook is a fairly old vampire, he's been in and around London for most of the past two centuries, and he's new just like me. so be gentle y'all! his app is here. he's a charismatic asshole, currently an earl in the islington nest, but he's a bit of a schemer and I'm not sure that he'll stay there forever. since he hasn't been in game until now I'm saying he was out of town for a few months and he just got back recently, to explain why he wasn't poking about until now!

BASIC PLANS:
So far, he's pretty new and I don't have much if any. Gonna take this first month to feel the waters so to speak. In the long term I'd like him to make his own faction, based on his "code", and making allies for him to aide in that task. he's also looking for a powerful magical item and could hire characters to look for it/ find it for him.

CR IDEAS:
— a sire! he's very close to her and it can be as friendly or toxic as we want it to be. only specification needed is that she's older than he is.
— friends he's secured already. it doesn't matter what you are, he'll make an alliance with you. except for werewolves, though, f*** werewolves.
— vampires. literally, I want him to know all vampires in game, so get at me.
— immortal connections. he's not the oldest in the game but he's close to 400. so connections he's kept for a long time would be great!

We've already discussed Henry and Killian (or are in the process of discussing, but hey. details.) But Abby is also keen to make nice with vampires because... Well. She's establishing a new coven that goes against all the Way Things Are.

The Widdowsons are a family that was around in the Tudor age, so Killian probably at least knows the family (both big supernatural players as well as financially and socially [until recently]) by proxy. And might know that Bad Things tend to happen to Widdowsons.

He'd be game for making nice with the coven! He'll put his money on the party that seems most likely to win, but he's open to switching sides too, haha.

I will have him aware of the family name for sure! What sort of Bad Things, supernatural kind?

Essentially, they've been avoiding a curse meant to wipe out their line 500 years ago by making deals with fae and using dark magic. So. Supernatural cause but 'natural' manifestations. Basically all sorts of stuff.

Okay! I shall keep that in mind. Would they have been mentioned in the paper and stuff like that? Tragic accidental deaths etc?

Yeah. Lots of accidental deaths that were newsworthy, lots of suicides. Abby's parents and younger brother were killed when she was 13 in a car crash, things like that.

I shall refrain from specifics to not step on toes but he will recognize the name and that they are not the luckiest!

HELLO. idk how Hook is about dealing directly/openly(ish) with fae, but Eames would be 100% willing to support him making his own faction if "yo don't mess with those guys" is a rule he'll be laying down. If he can't just kick all the vampires out of London, having some around who aren't gonna eat him is definitely a good thing.

He's about 600 and primarily London-based, so there's lots of scope for them to have met before. Or if you wanna have them meet for the first time in-game? OR NOT AT ALL EVER.

yes indeed, one of his rules would be not to fuck with fae! he has at least one or two fae friends, so I would always take more! haha if you can't beat them, make a few of them your ally, it makes sense right?

I would be game for either?? depends on what you are up for.

I was thinking of them knowing eachother before - Eames is a 'hand in all the pies' kind of guy, but mostly he deals in information so. If any of that is the kind of stuff Killian may've had an interest in in the past, Eames could be a good fella to know. Otherwise I'm happy to just have them ~get to know eachother~ in-game

yeah information is valuable, I can see him being into that! Hook is a bit of a thief in particular, if he could buy information for heists and stuff like that I could see them getting on with that!
