Nominations for Night Council President
A very quick update on the candidates, since the campaign is now in full swing! Four candidates have been nominated for the role of Night Council President:
• Cesare Borgia (longterm, currently Marquess of Islington)
• Jean-Claude (baisant, currently Duke of the Islington Nest)
• Yasmine Merad (NPC, currently Meta Human/Shapeshifter Representative)
• Peter Vrinak (NPC, currently Vice President)
On 26th May, Peter Vrinak will pull out of the election, citing personal reasons. He says he will remain as Vice President, but he is unable to continue with the campaign due to a "private family matter".
On 30th May, Yasmine Merad will pull out of the election after it emerges that her nomination by Bernice "Birdie" Salander was the result of a bribe.

This will leave only two runners in the race, both of whom are vampires. Expect a great deal of speculation in the media about what a vampire-led Night Council will look like. There's fear-mongering about both candidates, but Jean-Claude in particular will have a rough time of it with his past being scrutinised in great and unflattering detail by the press.
There will be more information about the election in the upcoming plotting post, but for now feel free to campaign for your candidate of choice!

Campaign message: Peter's message is all about trust. He's the Vice President, which makes him the natural choice to take the top spot. A reliable, steady hand to steer the Night Council ship. He's also strong on security, with a lot of rhetoric about making tough choices to protect your families from any supernatural threat. As the only witch candidate, he holds a great deal of sway with Circle Daybreak and was the bookies' favourite up until 26th May...
YASMINE MERAD
Age: 37
Species: Shapeshifter
Nominated by: Bernice "Birdie" Salander
Factions: Night Council, Redbright Institute
Supports: Shapeshifters and meta humans in general. She supports witches publicly, but privately resents them.
Neutral: Ghosts, werewolves
Against: Fae, vampires, witches in private
Campaign message: VOTE YASMINE – FOR A FAIRER, SAFER COMMUNITY. Yasmine will continue her message from her last election campaign which is all about inclusion and representing the interests of those whose voices are not heard strongly enough, especially meta humans and shapeshifters. No more being bossed around by witches. She will also say that no one should gain power at the expense of others – interpreted as a dig both at Circle Daybreak and the Islington Nest.
JEAN-CLAUDE
Age: 629
Species: Vampire
Nominated by: John Cooper
Factions: Islington
Supports: Islington Nest, Night Council
Neutral: Hillingdon, Fae, Redbright Institute, East End Pack
Against: Circle Daybreak
Campaign message: Jean-Claude has proven himself a strong candidate, from his rise to the position of Duke of Islington, and his push to bring representation for Islington back on the Council itself. His leadership skills will have been apparent in the delicate handling of the changeover from Raymond's reign to his own. He has centuries more life experience than most of the other candidates, and a very level head under pressure. He is not afraid to stand up for what is right.

Campaign message: IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE - The scandal of Sylvia Redbright has shown that London is rife with corruption. It's about time the city was cleared of its underhand deals and subterfuge. Someone needs to fix it, someone upstanding, honest and fair. Who better to do that than a former priest? Against Sylvia's corruption from the beginning, Cesare is ready to right the wrongs of London and turn it into an honest city that all its residents can be proud of.
