plot; english horror story: suburbs
Hello everyone! As you may or may not know, I've selected one of the plots for this month and it's time to hammer out the details and get other characters involved. The prompt is as following:
- The ghost of a girl haunts an old house in the suburbs. For unknown reasons, she has recently become violent. And she may have a connection with you or someone you know.
And here are some additional details I've figured out:
- • The ghost's connection to Arthur is that she was a victim of one of his vampire targets about a year ago. He killed the vampire, but only after it had made snacks out of a few humans in this area.
• The house is unoccupied and it's on the market. The girl did not die there but it was her childhood home and her parents moved out after she was killed.
• The ghost is strong enough to have limited communication with regular humans (Arthur included) but she is mostly communicating through breaking things.
Anyway the main point of this plotting post is to establish a basic timeline and pinpoint places for other characters to get involved! Arthur obviously won't be able to handle this all on his own, and he certainly doesn't have the means to help the ghost in the end. Even if you don't see a spot for your character here but you want to get involved I am waayyy open to suggestions so fire away! I'm planning this out over three days and here is the chain of events:
- OCTOBER 23rd
• The disturbances in the neighbourhood are starting to attract attention in the supernatural community for one reason or another.
• The supernatural community thinks it's probably a cursed object in the house, people show up trying to break the curse. The ghost gets very hostile whenever anyone does this.
• That is, until Arthur shows up. The ghost seems unsure when he arrives, but she still doesn't want to communicate with words. She recognizes him as having a part in her death but can't articulate what that was. Any other supernatural people who have an easier time with ghosts may be present at the moment and can totally sideye Arthur here - did he kill her? What part did he play? TIME FOR RESEARCH.
• INSERT DISCUSSIONS ON HOW TO DEAL WITH SAID GHOST HERE.
OCTOBER 24th
• Arthur does some digging about the address overnight, discovers who used to live there. He learns the girl's name and figures out that it was one of his marks who killed her.
• He asks for/finds help communicating with her, because she's kind of worried she's going to throw a sharp object at his face and they can't have that.
• They calm the ghost down and have a discussion about why she's still there. Turns out she is very confused and upset and has a few loose ends to wrap up.
• Arthur and anyone who wants to help spends the rest of the 24th and the 25th finding ways to wrap up those loose ends, which I have not fully conceptualize but will do so if no one has any ideas!
OCTOBER 25th
• Arthur needs more help! He returns to the house with all or most of the demands met and needs to communicate with her again to tell her.
• Having found a resolution, the ghost is now peaceful and ready to move on OR she decides to stay.
That's it for now! The IC post will go up some time this week and depending on how plotting goes I'll have a number of threads for people to tag into. If you want to be involved but don't really know where to put yourself just leave a comment here and I'll come up with something!
