Night Council Election Results 2016
After a hard-fought election campaign, the winning candidates for the Night Council election are...
The Results
President: Sylvia Redbright
Despite a tough challenge from sleek opponent Hans Estergaard, Sylvia retains her position as President of the Night Council with 59% of the total vote. Hans gained 35% of the vote.
Vice President: Peter Vrinak
It was Vrinak's first test in his new position of Vice President and he passes in style, with 71% of the total vote. Rumours are that the support of the East End Pack helped to boost his share of the vote.
Witch Representative: Nora Shannon
With only two candidates fighting it out, it was always going to be a battle but Gilbert Norrell losing his seat is certainly the shock result of the election. Bookies and polls had predicted a clear victory for the incumbent candidate, and even Nora herself seems surprised when she hears the result: 57% vs 43%.
Shapeshifter/Meta Human Representative: Yasmine Merad
It's a stunning victory for incumbent candidate Yasmine Merad, with an impressive 78% of the vote. Faolan O'Neill is her closest challenger, winning 10%.
Vampire Representative: Millicent
As the only candidate standing, Millicent is re-elected without a vote so the announcement of her victory is nothing more than a formality. She'll smile and wave anyway.
What Next?
The election results will be announced at the Night Council headquarters today, with live feeds to the Redbright Institute, significant Daybreak covens, the Jolly Roger in Islington, and Hillingdon House. Community leaders are expected to gather at the Night Council HQ to witness the results, which they can then communicate to their factions.
On 9th May, the new or re-elected members of the Night Council officially take their seats. This is a private ceremony, witnessed only by selected Guardians and rank-and-file colleagues from the Night Council.
After that... well, they'll be getting down to the business of running the supernatural community. Some candidates may have been bribed or influenced to act in a certain way and you will start to see the fallout of that from the next plotting post.
In the meantime, we have a new NPC on our list of Elites: Nora Shannon! Feel free to head over to the May plotting post to discuss next steps!
